Eagle River is worth the drive. The trails are easy and the scenery is beautiful. Area provided for a quite and very picturesque picnic. Bring mosquito spray - a must in Summer.

Beautiful hiking in the Chugach mountains. Some trails loop around to make quick walks with the kids. Big wheeled strollers can be pushed on most trails. Nice place to picnic during a long hike. My kids like climbing on the boulders. But this is bear and wolf country, so my kids stay close. And there are no bathrooms along the... More

We were there in a group as part of the 2016 Alaska Bears, Glaciers and Fall colours photo tour by Jeff Schultz. The place was very beautiful with rivers and lakes and proper trails to walk. We manage to spot some wildlife when we were there in the morning. Extremely scenic and wirth going.

Sept 19, 2016 we decided to visit as we were driving back from Denali National Park. A very easy, beautiful drive. The mountains are stunning, the trees in "fall colors". We paid our $5 parking fee and walked down to the boardwalk. We were lucky and our timing was great, a brown bear had just entered the pool below the... More

A nice drive to the nature center and well worth the trip. We were able to view the historic Iditarod Trail but were limited on taking the walking trails due to feeding brown bears. This is a nice way to spend a few hours exploring the area.

Great location with well kept trails. The visitor center was geared toward families and a bit outdated. The ride out was longer than expected but you pass a Walmart? If you have the extra time a good stop on your way to Denali.

Visiting Eagle River Nature Center was one of the highlights of my trip. The scenery was gorgeous. We walked the Nature Trail and then the Iditarod trail as far as the rapids. The trails were gravel and easy to follow and there was good signage as well. The Albert Loop Trail was closed due to bear activity. Good Fall foliage... More

Wow !! An amazing view of the glacier from the boardwalk . There is a wonderful trail that takes you down to a couple of boardwalks . The views are amazing . I was late for salmon run . I would imagine this would be a great place to observe . The nature center has some pretty good exhibits on... More

We had an amazing experience here the other day! Got to see a young grizzly searching for food along the river. Only a few yards away! It was a nice short hike even thou it was raining. Unforgettable experience!
