This tour gave us a lot of memories to treasure on our one day excursion to Moorea from Tahiti. We got it through tripadvisor. Since we were staying in Tahiti, we knew we needed to take an early ferry. Clear instructions were delivered via email and we were promptly picked up from the Terevau dock right on time. They will pick you up from your hotel as well, and they don't just use one vehicle so don't have to worry about spending a lot of time waiting to pick up guests one at a time.
Wilfred was the captain of our day, and he is also the owner. Fluent in French, he is also able to switch to English as needed. It was definiteiy a bi-lingual day. Elvis was his first mate and the cook for our lunch (as well as driving us back to the ferry pier).
The description of the tour very accurately describes the activities. There were two areas to snorkel, and we did get to swim with rays and reef sharks at 'Banc de sable Raies et requins'. It is public, so anybody can go with a boat, but while we were there, it seemed like there were only professionals all working together. You don't need to swim at all since the water is 3 - 4 feet deep in large parts of the area. You should bring your own snorkel, mask, and fins if you have it.
Lunch was served on the island of Motu Fareone, in a dedicated area for Miti Tour guests. Wifred taught us how to make Polynesian ceviche (white tuna and FRESH coconut milk), and it was delicious. There was also chicken and some native veggies, served with punch, water, and beer. The island is not developed so there was an outdoor latrine. The ocean water is so clean there and whenever we got hot, just dipped in the water to cool off.
There was time to just enjoy being out in the water....one of my favorite times was just poking my head out and watching Moorea go by while enjoying the breeze and ocean spray.
So after about 7 hours of activity, we were dropped off at the same place as we were picked up, to make the last ferry of the day (with about an hour to spare).
We laughed A LOT during the 6+ hours, which we can use more of...all thanks to Wilfred and his team. I really can't think of anything that they could have done better...it's obvious that they take feedback and keep refining the tour...and becaues of the small size group, it is very personal. We had some real experienced travelers in our group, and to a tee, each one said this was one of the best tours we've ever taken in terms of activities and value.
There are a lot of other things that Wilfred and his team might do extra for you (including education) if there is time and he is so inclined, so for your own sake, promptly follow his schedule and directions.
Māuruuru, Wilfred and Elvis.
