Even if you stay few hours in Barrow, this is the place to go directly. Cannot explain good enough the feeling I had when i first time saw the Artic Ocean partially frozen and walking over it. I stayed 3 days there, and every few...More

No visit to Barrow is complete unless you visit the Whale Bone Arch. Located right in town, can walk here from the north side of town without any problem. The ocean was completely frozen when we where her in June so no polar bear plunge...More

Thought some arctic summer beach pictures could raise a smile .... Seriously, this is the point where you have higher risks to face wild life like white bears ...

Our visit to Barrow Alaska was less than 24 hours but we got everything in we wanted to do. 1. We fully submerged ourselves when we jumped in the Arctic Ocean. It was not as cold as I would have thought. We brought up old...More

It would be unimaginable to come to Barrow and not go to the shore of the Arctic Ocean. Not too many human beings can claim to have seen the Arctic Ocean. Touch the water. If you are brave, wade in (bring some sandals). If you...More

Not much here as you might expect. Kind of neat to see an ice pack on the beach in July. A fair bit of trash about takes away from the beauty. No animals today except a solo seal and a horned owl. Barely worth a...More

Very unique. If in Barrow you must step foot on the beach. Take a quick stroll and take in a landscape like no other.

This was a great spot to take pictures of the Arctic Ocean and ice. Gravely, sandy beach is very interesting. You are told not to go to the water, as the polar bears are a real and potentially present danger. I just looked around and...More

One day in Barrow is plenty. Most tourists fly in on the morning flight and out on the afternoon flight.
