Get out of the city and spend a day driving the loop around the Orosi valley. Great little restaurants, especially the one overlooking the football plaza in Orosi. Lots to do here - sightseeing, the Mirador, the green suspension bridge, Tapanti National Park, the balnearios (heated outdoor pools). Just don't come during Semana Santa - it is WAY too crowded,... I have visited the Orosi Valley a few times. It is one of my girlfriend's favorite places in Costa Rica. Rightly so! The river valley is beautiful, the mountains are awesome. The small towns and villages are friendly and welcoming.

This is a warming place, surrounded by nature all over, near to Tapanti Reserve, great restaurants near to the lake. A lot history in this down.. Highly recommended.

We took a drive through the valley on our first day in CR. It was a great scenic drive that got us excited to see the rest of the country on our weeklong vacation!

While guide books may devote one or 2 pages to the Orosi Valley, it warrants more attention form travelers. They form a triangle... More

We stop here when we are in Cartago. At the Mirador, there are places for picnics and bathrooms. Very nice.
