The Central Market is a flea market whuch is free if you just walk around and look. An easy way to learn about a culture is to see what food and items are sold. I bought a granizoda while there. It is a snow cone...More

A central market in downtown San Jose. Lots of restaurants and shops. Nice place to go walking while downtown. Walk during the day.

This place is very unique, yes it's very different from the normal markets in the states, and some areas might smell as well but that's what makes it unique, it's part of their culture and this is a normal shopping area for locals. The food...More

Went to central market with an open mind after reading bad reviews. I really should have listened. I walked in to the smell of urine near one of the food stalls. It seemed really unsanitary so skipped eating there and went to Carl's Jr. Nearby...More

This place is amazing. It is huge and contains many stores and sodas (traditional restaurants). Many of the sodas are open by 8am but the other shops don't open until 9am. The prices are reasonable but you will get a better deal if you pay...More

We didn’t go directly from the airport but I’m guessing about 15-20 min taxi ride. Take the RED taxis in San Jose and agree on an amount before you get in the cab. We did this and always got a good deal. Met others who... More
