Great museum located in an old fort. Lots of good history and artifacts. Pretty much learned entire history of Costa Rica there. Took a couple hours to go through and cheap to get in, only $9 for foreigners.

Very detailed and interesting, covers precolumbian times to present. Modest price to enter. There is a butterfly garden when you first enter. We were also "entertained" by protestors in the park, unfortunatly their noise carried into the museum.
Lots of art, history and culture. We learned so much during our visit here. There are hours of interesting things to see and read. The butterfly pavilion was a pleasant surprise and a highlight of the visit. I highly recommend spending a day here.
