We went horse riding which was good then cable car ride across the ravine with great views across countryside. The park was very quiet on our visit, seemed we had the place to ourselves like VIP.

We visited Turu Ba Ri as a shore excursion from our cruise, which was docked in Puerto Caldera. The drive through the countryside provided us with beautiful views. As others have said in their reviews, a tour of the park includes various garden areas, both a butterfly and iguana exhibit, a shaded forest area for bird watching (if you have an astute guide he can find the birds hiding in the branches), farm animals, a deer enclosure and a sugar cane processing demonstration. The aerial tram takes you far above the treetops to the lunch area - the food is plentiful and good and the area was clean. All the equipment and areas seemed well maintained to us. Although we did not zip line, we could see the adventurers flying above and through the trees - and the Superman line takes you facing forward - just as Superman flies - over a river and forest. It was a fully packed day of experiences, albeit extremely hot and humid. Be sure to bring water for the walking part of your tour.

Some well manicured forest areas with flower gardens containing many species. Injury liability forms had be signed upon arrival. Walk through natural forest for a bird watch (unexpected and unwanted). Plant husbandry areas, butterfly enclosure, and an up close and personal demonstration of using oxen to extract syrup from sugar cane. Cruise information stated a canopy tour showing an open gondola. Tour was high above the canopy in an enclosed cable car. Very nice lunch was included.

We had a tour of the gardens and exhibits. We took a very slow moving tram to the bottom where there were gardens. They were sectioned off to orchids, bromeliads, butterfly garden ( my favorite) and other areas. They had a section to rehab animals - crocodiles, turtles, etc but they could have done more to explain the process. They had a section to show how they used to make sugar cane into sugar - very tedious and laborious process. We had a buffet lunch at the end of the tour with Costa Rican dishes, which was very tasty.

I started the morning on a horse ride through the mountain. The horses were very healthy and very calm. I loved that the bridles has no bits and the explanation was to protect the horses mouth from inexperienced riders pulling the reins. This is great application of horse manship and thinking of the animals. Luna was a great steed and I felt safe throughout. Great conversation on the trial even in my brokenSpanish. Jerret was our guide for the nature walk. Very friendly very informed and very enthusiastic. The tram ride down was pleasant with great views. Loved the butterfly garden and the iguanas, bats and demonstration of the super cane mill. Bulls looked extremely healthy for their age. However one bad point was the farm animals. Being from a farming country I didn’t enjoy seeing some of the animals in small housing and some in need of some attention. Also expected more wild animals and not animals in enclosures so be prepared. Overall a lovely place with options for zip lining and crazy rock climbing not for the faint hearted. Lunch was delicious.
