Went for a short day trip to the reserve. Upon arrival we were greeted by dozens of white faced monkeys, iguanas, and racoons. Went for a walk along the trails and saw great flora, crocodiles and birds. After our walk we went for a nice refreshing swim on one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica I've seen. Super... There are so many National Reserves in Costa Rica. This one is not worth the admission price. $12 for adults and $6 for children. There are some not so wild deer, monkeys and iguanas. The beach is black and slimy. Skip this one

Very rural area, great to see nature untouched. Great wildlife, and a calm beach area. Bring your camera and swimsuit and enjoy nature at its finest in Costa Rica.

The nature walk was easy & beautiful. At the end we came upon a group of capuchin monkeys & it was so great to see their reaction to human presence.

We took a taxi to Curu and arrived in time to reserve a fish meal for lunch. Cost $11.00 US! Then we spent time walking the beach and enjoying the white sand. Best of all was the hike through the park where is was easy to believe we were lost in the jungle. All we could hear were birds and... More

If you are staying in the area this is the place to go to see wildlife such as howler monkeys, spider monkeys, bats, spiders, crabs, lizards and all kinds of birds! We even saw a crocodile in the creek inside the park!

first of all we asked for 3 tickets but they apparently only charged us for 2. Yes, we even asked for this in Spanish so they should have understood us. We got to the snorkeling spot and couldn't see a thing.( Not their fault but felt like our time and money were wasted). Then they dropped us off on a... More

And takes a lot for me to say that. I always find something good about this place, but here...honestly didnt find anything nice. I stopped at this park between Montezuma and Puntarenas on February 16. The monkey refuge is a disgrace, you walk trough a herd of horses to get to it (not to mention you drive through a herd... This place has good guides and well marked trails. Not as croweded as the cloud forest reserve but represents a different micro-climate. Unless you are a hard core tropical forest visitor probably not worth your time to do both, but we are really interested in tropical ecology so it was a nice complement to the reserve. It is extremely well... More
