Excellent boat tour to meet with the whales! We saw several cows with their babies, really spectacular! Thanks to Paula who explained everything and answered all questions very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed spending some time at a beautiful remote beach and being served sweet fruits there. Also a dip into the warm water outside the Ballena Marine Park was possible. The Whale Tail Beach at Uvita is worth a trip anyway (don’t know why the Ballena Infocenter is listed under Puntarenas instead of Uvita)…

We had the best day with Paula and the team on their whale and dolphin tour. There were only 6 of us on the day of our tour so it was very personal. Paula is a marine biologist so is very knowledgable and was very interesting in the tour. We saw dolphins and a mother and baby whale! we also got the chance to swim near whale rock which was great. Amazing experience - can’t recommend highly enough especially if you want a more unique experience than the bigger tour companies. Thanks to Paula and the team for a great day.…

We were almost lone in the boat, us 4 in the family with the straff. They were very nice, excellent guidning and they listened to our wished. We took the whole Day tour to the mangroves and the sea with snorkelling. We were lucky to see false killer whale dolphins, a rare turtle, a rare eagle and other animals. The snorkelling was in a bit murky water due to the season but nothing we can blame the company. All in all 4 very happy persons who highly recommend this tour. …

For those of us that are no sailors, fisherman or scuba divers, going to the sea is quite a ride. Therefore feeling secure is a must have whenever we choose to live an experience on a boat like whale watching. That’s the first impression you get from this people: Safety. Ronald “Kiko” and his crew make sure you feel secure and confident with what it is about to happen. It starts with the opening speech and then with the instructions you get once you are on the beach and inside the boat, from that point forward is all amazing. You even have your own marine biologist who is the tour guide, which means you can ask anything you want and most certainly you will get an answer. The tour itself is quite an experience. You get to see the whales and their calf numerous times coming to surface to breathe and every time you see one of these amazing animals is a feeling that words can’t describe. It is an unbelievable and unforgettable experience. Besides the starts of the show – whales and calf – you also get to see other animals like dolphins and turtles. You also get a tour around some points of interest in the area like Isla Ballena and some beaches like Ventanas. My advice to any travelers in the area: Beware and careful with the agency you chose for your whale watching tour, there are a lot of “sharks” at the entry of the national park and not all of them have the proper knowledge, paperwork and responsibility to do these tours. This agency – Ballena Infocenter – you can trust.…
