We booked a snorkeling tour to the island. Great snorkeling. Once you finish snorkeling, they took us to the island lunch was ready for us. Great food! There is also a gift shop & beach bar

We came here through Costa Cats as part of our day excursion. When we first arrived, I thought we had the beach to ourselves. A short-lived dream of course, but I was able to enjoy the scenery and serenity while it lasted. You can find the beach to be peaceful in the early morning. Once 12PM hits, it becomes a bit packed and continues to get more packed as the day goes on. Only wished it was a bit less touristy! Still, the beach is super beautiful - only second to the beaches within Manuel Antonio National Park. Also wished we could've seen turtles here. The name of the island literally translates to Turtle Island!

We traveled from San Jose down to the port to catch the boat, can't remember how long the journey was but to then have over an hour on the boat was quite a long trip. We went on New Years day, it was a beautiful day, very warm. We booked our trip through Gray Line and it was very well organised, as soon as you are on the boat and you set sail, you have soft drinks and coffee available, alcohol you have to pay extra for, but then the staff bring round pineapple and melon, and offer you fruit juice. We got off the boat at Tortuga Island to the staff playing music for us. All the little bits added to the experience. Lunch was included, and it was OK, had better, had worse. Very well organised, everyone was very friendly, thoroughly recommend this trip, although I would take water shoes as the beach is more stones than sand when going into the water. Very nice way to spend New Years Day, just wish I could afford to do the same again next year!!

After a snorkling trip we ended up on Tortuga Island for lunch. It is very touristic and has virtually nothing to offer but A souvenir shop A lot of tables for the tourists stranding in the island A sandy / stony beach with polluted water A nice postcard view coming from the seaside. Chairs to rent on the beach to enjoy the sun

A lovely day was had on these beautiful white beaches. There is a short hike up the hill to a vantage point to look over the area. The hike can be extended but we were out of time. It seems Tortuga is being cared for by not allowing accommodation.
