Monteverde cloud forest

The variable climate and the great altitudinal gradient support the incredibly diverse set of creatures that live here. Some of these include the jaguar, the ocelot, the Baird tapir, the three-beard bell tower, the naked-neck umbrellabird and the famous and elusive shining quetzal. The flora and fauna of Costa Rica is incredibly impressive.

Golden bean coffee tour

If you love coffee, then you should try Costa Rican coffee. Costa Rica is known for producing high quality coffee, in fact, it is one of the best in the world!

When you hear about Costa Rican coffee, you probably think of good quality and strong flavor. Both thoughts are correct, but this reputation is not a coincidence. Costa Ricans take their coffee very seriously and are proud of what we call our golden beans.

Carlos the sales person set us up with Michael the tour guide. We took a tour of several small cities inside the area and ended with a coffee plantation. Michael was an amazing tour guide, with a lot of information, and a great attitude. He was really patient with the kids, and showed us a lot of the country that we would not have seen on the resort. After our tour, he took us to see some monkeys on the side of the road, and showed us some wildlife that we would not have seen. I would highly recommend Michael.

If you want to see or know anything about Costa Rica you need to see Carlos by the Pier at Puntarenas. Carlos is a walking encyclopedia on just about everything Costa Rican, He took us to places we could not even have dreamed of and showed us the beauty of his country and the wonderful people that live there. Even though it rained most of the time, he took time to explain and show us the customs and lifestyles of the locals, that the rain seemed to be a valuable part of the tour. If you really want to experience Costa Rica, go see "Carlos by the Pier".

We met Christian at the dock in Puntarenas when getting off the ship. He was loaded with great information about Costa Rica. We have been on many tours in many countries and he is one of the best we have had. Besides his knowledge, he is full of humor. He was always checking to see if we had any questions or to see if he could help in anyway. We were in a van with ten people which made it easy for him to interact with all of us. Christian is a great ambassador for Costa Rica! We want to come back and will use Christian again.
