Had the pleasure of spending a few weeks as a volunteer at this wonderful sanctuary. The animals receive the best of care and much effort is put into ensuring their highest wellbeing. You will learn a lot and will likely have the opportunity for up close and meaningful interaction with many of the animals. The sanctuary is run by a... More

I loved seeing all of the different kinds of animals and they care for them so well! These animals have issues where they cannot survive on their own in the wild, it's nice to see them so well cared for in their OWN environment...

This place is truly amazing. I'm a Behaviour Analyst and carefully watched how they were with the animals (nothing but positive reinforcement). Carol truly cares about these animals and I 100% agree that animals are better than people but that's me. You can feel her love, energy and commitment to the wildlife. This isn't a zoo or petting zoo. Half... More

Visiting the sanctuary is the highlight of my trip in CR so far. Both guides were very nice and knew a lot to tell about the animals. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

I loved this tour more than I had expected. Carol takes phenomenal care of the animals and the property. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and is a wealth of knowledge about the region. This is a must-see and also a great place to donate!!!

We visited during a boat trip in the Gulfe Dolce arranged by Iguana Lodge. Carol greeted us at the beach, followed by monkeys and made us all feel welcome. She then proceeded with Monkey 101 to tell us what to do and how to behave for the safety of the monkeys (and us, of course). Carol then introduced us to... More

This sanctuary is in a stunning location only accessible by boat (we visited as part of a boat tour of Golfo Dulce from Cabinas Jimenez) and we were greeted by our guide Ebelina. It was an interesting tour, Ebelina was engaging and she is clearly passionate about the work of the sanctuary. The majority of animals are in cages, as... More

Our entire family of 14, ages 9 to 80, took 2 boats from the Iguana Lodge to the Osa Wildlife Sanctuary. Our tour guide was a volunteer from Sweden. We saw many animals which had been rescued from various types of critical situations, nursed to health, but for one reason or another could not be released to their natural habitat.... More

We travelled by boat to the sanctuary. Our tour guide was excellent, and the animals are fascinating. It was hot, take bug spray. We saw a bunch of dolphin on the boat ride over, and stopped to snorkel on the way back to Puerto Jimenez.
