The company is called Ballena Aventura, we booked a trip at their office near the National Park Ballena at Uvita. Our guide William and the boat captain (Captain Black) were very knowledgable. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins followed by seeing 2 adult humpback whales -one of whom put on an amazing display and leapt out... More

My husband, my 6 year-old daughter and I went on this whale-watching tour this past July. Our guide was Evaristo. He was very nice, spoke very good English and even spoke a little French and tried to learn some new words from us. Evaristo was quite knowledgeable about the whales, the dolphins and the whole area. It was very helpful... More

A beautiful boat tour off the coast of Dominical! We spent about an hour watching dolphins (didn't get to see any whales this trip, but not their fault) and then went along the coast of Playa Ventanas, which was a beautiful beach lined with caves, and ended by snorkeling near the "Whale Tail" beach for about 1/2 hour. Our tour... More

We were a little disappointed with our whale watching tour. Firstly it was not as long as we were told, I think we were looking for whales for just over an hour, we did see a few, but unfortunately mainly their backs (not Ballena Aventura's fault these are wild creatures!). Our guide was not very enthusiastic, probably the least enthusiastic... More

We had a great day snorkelling Cano island with Wayne and Mimi as our guide and crew. At Cano island we saw lots and lots of tropical fish, including rays, puffer fish, starfish and trumpet fish. The water was really clear. We left on time, got there easily, had a great lunch on board, had time to see the beach... More

We took the Cano Island snorkeling tour and ran out of gas on the way back. We waited for about an hour for the rescue boat to deliver more fuel. Need I say more?

We booked a Cano Island excursion with Ballena Aventura thru a third party in Uvita. When we inquired we were told that only 4 other people were interested in going and since there was a 6 person minimum, if we didn't commit there was a good chance that there would be no trip. This was the off-season and pretty much... More

End of march 2014 we visited the Corcovado national park with Wayner, friendly guide from Ballena Aventura. The trip was organized from Uvita where we took a little boat to the peninsul of Osa. This was already the occasion to observe wildlife : dolphins and a turtle. Then we did a 3 hours ride in the reserve, and thanks to... More

We took the Cano Island snorkeling tour that launched from the beach at the Marino Ballena National Park. The Ballena Adventura lead guide Wayne was terrific. We saw dolphin and flying fish from the boat on the way to the island. The snorkeling was superb. The water was clear, the fish plentiful and of good size. We also saw a... More

We spent part of our time in Uvita partly because we'd be able to take a day trip to Corcovado from there. We booked late, so we had to take what we could get - which in this case was a day trip to the San Pedrillo station on the north west tip of Corcovado National Park. Other tours that... More
