We went to Montezuma and followed everyone's recommendation to visit the waterfalls. First we have some troubles finding the entrance - going south after the beach, there is a small bridge and parking to the right of the road. You can park there ($2) and take the trail up. Maybe because now it's much in the dry season, the waterfall... More

This waterfall is a half day hike activity. It offers adventure for the whole family or friends or couples. It has multiple levels of expertise. The top is not for the faint of heart- it requires some rock climbing and strength . If you do get there - you will see on most days - people jumping from high level... More

The walk to this place is an adventure in itself. Be prepared to so some serious hiking/walking. Also be sure you can stand walking over rocks or thru the jungle. You will be rewarded with a nice waterfall with a pool big enough to swim and cool down after your hike. Do not expect a lot of water during dry... More

Scramble over rocks and walk the path past monkeys along the riverbed to the waterfall. You can take a break there and swim in the pool of water at the bottom of the falls. Brings beverages and snacks if you plan to stay for a hour or so.

Relaxing hike to the waterfalls, however there is a much steeper climb to the second and third waterfalls. I’d recommend good shoes. Swimming was very relaxing. Once you are at the top you can climb down, or pay $1,00 colones to use their stairs case. I thought it was worth it for the safety. A highly recommended visit.

Wonderful, novice-level hike! Awesome to take a refreshing dip in the cool waterfall as well as a smaller body of water. Swim out to the waterfall and feel the refreshing water! Can't beat it. Might be challenging for small children.

Good for a refreshing jump into the little lake below the waterfall. I went during the dry season not sure about rainy periods, as you need to walk up the river bed

Nice and clean, be careful of guys jumping from the mountain above the water fall. About 20 minutes walk from the parking spot to the lower water fall.

My family of 5 did the short hike babywearing a toddler so it is really not too vigorous a trail. Walk slowly, place feet carefully and you will be fine! We timed it at 18 minutes on our second visit. The waterfall is gorgeous and the swimming is cool and refreshing. The water is deep! We did not go up... More

Short hike in (15-20 min) to see beautiful waterfall, where you can jump off rocks and swim. A dangerous and strenuous hike further on will lead you to two more waterfalls that feed into the one at the bottom. It was beautiful and worth the extra effort. Although, we heard from the locals that jumping off the waterfalls is pretty... More
