When we went it was earlier in the morning, but it was also raining/misting. By the time we got done it was clearing up. Even tho we didn’t see any animals and it was raining it was still nice hearing the birds chirping. I would...More

We had nice walk with our guide. He pointed out native ferns & explained different flora & fauna. We saw some animals & we also saw Quetzals nesting.

We took the bus from Santa Elena right to the reserve; it was easy and affordable. Note that there's a student discount so bring an ID if you have it. We did not opt for a guided tour, and so we saw a couple birds;...More

Such incredible natural beauty! Paths are well looked after, but not too "touristy". Still all very natural. Magical hikes!!!

We enjoyed meandering through the reserve with our guide. Even though it was quite misty we did see Quetzals in the distance and a Tarantula nest. Well worth the visit since some of the admission fee goes to further conservation efforts.

This is the best hiking, it is really beautiful, it takes amazing pictures. You should wear close shoes and pants because it is more cold in Monteverde. Beside that, everyone will help you if you have any questions there.

Beautiful place to visit and a must see for all who visit Monteverde! I would highly highly recommend going with a guild or it will be near impossible to see anything. The guides are wonderful at spotting animals in the forest and will help give...More

What an amazing experience- this is one of those places you just can't describe. From my first step into the reserve to the last one I enjoyed every moment. The park opens at 7 and when I arrived at 8 the main parking lot was...More

Nice park where you can explore some unique flora in this premountainous low humidity tropical rainforest. This is home of quetzal, the famed bright green feathered bird local to area. It’s hard to find the birds, but there is a helpful trail right by a...More

Monteverde is a very special place. It is where we learned about recycling many years ago. If you go you really do need to spend the extra money and go with a group. It is so thick it is very hard to see anything. If...More

Temperature felt in high 60s but quite humid. I would pack a rain jacket and a long sleeve shirt but it’s not too bad.

I'm really scared of heights and I managed. There are holes, so it's see through. It doesn't move, unless others are on there moving. It's easily possible to avoid going over it, if you so choose.
