If the abundance of life is what you want, and the animations of excellent beaches, this is the place. Monkeys, sloths (some right in town), toucans, macaws, frogs, butterflies. .... it's all here. Get with a group of 4 or more and the guides are about $15. Otherwise, more like $25.

A fun time walking down the path to find various animals and plants on the way. The monkeys were a joy to see and the ocean was inviting

My b/f and I recently traveled to Costa Rica and wanted to visit the national park. The park is closed on Monday's so we decided to go on the Tuesday as soon as they opened, which was at 7am. We arrived in the park and decided that we didnt want to do a group or private tour so we looked... More

Had a great experience here. Drove down to the park ourselves, $4 to park. Passed on the $25/person guided tour and paid the entrance fee to the park. We were lucky enough to connect with some folks from Winnipeg & Calgary & were able to get a guide for 8 of us for $70 total. Having a guide with spotting... More

Playa Manuel is a lovely beach. It seemed like a long walk to me, but I'm a senior citizen. It was very entertaining with the wildlife that was around. Watching the monkeys was really fun. They were stealing any food possible.

Beautiful beach with gentle waves and warm water. Nice sandy beach surrounded by mangroves. Warning that it can be quite busy and the sun is too strong to be on unshaded beach.

Lovely clean beach, if a little crowded (unsurprisingly!). You have to look after your belongings to stop monkeys/raccoons making off with them.

Getting here was entertaining as the ladies toilets suddenly cleared when a fer-de-lance snake slithered past its entrance! The beach is crowded with little natural shade and then you have the local racoons and capuchins making the most of any unguarded offerings. Trying to feed them by hand risks serious harm to yourself so do not try it. The sea... More
