We had so much fun on our river rafting trip with Aventuras del Sarapiqui! The section of river we were on is rated as Class 2-3 as far as rapids go; not scary, but exciting! Beautiful tropical scenery all around with opportunities to see colorful birds, monkeys, and sloths too!

We did a rafting tour from Aventuras del Sarapiqui. We had fun, it was not to difficult for not to young children, or a little older people, like we are (around 60 years of age).

Left from San Jose and 2 hours later our group made it to our destination in the Rain Forest. We took a boat ride up the Sarapiqui River and then took a hour long horseback ride through rain forest and late lunch. Returned to original meeting point after a return trip on the river boat, Was a treat to see... More

The motor boat ride was very relaxing. The captain/operator appeared to be very proud of his Country and his job. He was very informative and got us close to iguanas, monkeys, birds, crocodiles. Be aware: At location they only accept cash or a voucher from a hotel. During the raining season, tours are not available.

This river is the ideal. Surrounded by lush green rainforest in the upper section of the river there are Class III-IV rapids... further downriver the river widens and deepens for boat tours and great wildlife viewing including birds and crocs... all along the river you will find local swimming holes and Tarzan swings!!!!

The boat ride was relaxing... the main attraction: the crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys and birds that made up some of the wildlife that inhabit the river and forest. This was definitely a highlight of our week-long tour of this beautiful country.

we took a cruise with sarapiqui river cruise, which went up river into the nature preserve. I think we were short a guide, but the driver pointed out monkeys, a lot of birds and a couple of lizards including the "Jesus lizard". Definitely recommended.

We rented a boat from Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui and went down the river to where it meets the San Juan River and the border of Nicaragua. We saw many crocodiles, iguanas, monkeys and birds. A beautiful way to see these beautiful creatures. You can also take a boat right out to Tortugera and stay overnight. We did that last... More
