The site is beautiful, but much rain is needed for the water not to be muddy. Be sure to have an SUV to get there!!

We thought this was going to be a hike to a waterfall view. The hike is primitive but short. You will need real shoes rather than flip flops. The waterfall itself was very pretty and on our visit the water was clear. We were surprised...More

We followed the directions on the blog Two Weeks in Costa Rica and found the waterfall easily. Only 20km from Sámara. It’s a dirt road but was easily navigable without a four wheel drive as it is the dry season. A bit narrow when facing...More

This waterfall is located off of the main Nicoya-Samara road about 20 mins outside of Samara. You would think that the location was a state secret as there are absolutely no signs to point you to this location. Best directions are as follows. Head out...More

We went in June 2017, during the rainy season, so from the photos I have seen it can be a different experience. First of all, there are really good and simple instructions on how to get here on the blog, Two Weeks in Costa Rica....More

You need an SUV or motorcycle to get there. Natural stone tubs, waterfall, chilly water and sunny day - that why people love it.

We found this place with the help of our hotel front desk. We'll worth the drive for a (free) place to swim in freshwater. There are pools at the bottom and a unique deep pool at the top. Lots of locals with families there all...More

Relatively easy to reach if you have a rental car. Only the last 2 km are on dirt road, OK during the dry season. Lovely waterfalls early in the dry season (Jan - Feb) with pools deep enough for swimming.

This was another place I visited after reading about it on trip advisor. It is definitely hard to find. You need a 4 x 4 to get there. Roads are very narrow, coming around a corner I almost hit a girl on a dirt bike....More
