Playas Del coco or Coco beach, is a nice beach with black volcanic sand. Don’t expect white Caribbean sand here, as it isn’t. Is a nice beach to sit and watch the world go by while viewing the boats and pelicans diving for there catch.

I lived in this little town for a year more than 30 years ago, I came back 20 years ago but have not been back since, until last month. I had mixed feelings about returning as I loved the place so much in the eighties,...More

We had a large group so we need space. We found parking easily and close to the beach. Loved the area and beach. A lot to see and do within walking distance of the beach. Good food available right on the beach.
Great little ocean front town. Just the right mix of activities, tours, fishing, paddle boarding the calm bay waters. Safe community and friendly people.
We drove into Playa Coco from Tamarindo (50 minute by car) and it was an easy drive. We parked by the beach which is beautiful. And then headed on the Main Street where we saw monkeys on the trees. Stopped in to fish spa and...More
Playas del Coco is well located on the Pacific coast. The weather is simply superb, and when not in the rainy season, there is simply no rain and the sunshine is ever present. Having said this now for the negative parts. There is trash along...More
