I have been all over the world surfing and traveling, and my experience at Bogarin Trail was hands down one of the best and most enjoyable moments I have ever had. Before I begin my long review, you HAVE to go here! Do the tour with a guide (you won’t see anything by yourself) the guides have been doing this their entire lives and they will spot animals you never would’ve even known were there also you will learn more and get more amazing photos! We were lucky enough to have William Bogarin, one of the brothers that owns the park, as our guide. He was born and raised in the area, and was the best guide I have ever had. His passion for the animals and the area/ecosystem was infectious. He loves what he does, he loves where he works, and he loves sharing his passion with visitors...it’s amazing to see and experience. You don’t see that very much these days. The whole facility and staff are the same, they have a passion for nature and it’s brilliant. On our tour we saw 13 sloths, multiple rare tree frogs, rare birds including multiple tucans, unique vegetation, and much more! Additionally, William and all the guides brought telescopes that zoom in on the animals so you can see them up close. They also put your phone camera in the zoom lense and get amazing pictures/videos of the animals. Pictures and videos you will cherish for your entire life (see the images below). On top of it all, the forest is only 20 years old, and the brothers developed it all themselves. Proper environmental conservation in action. They have had this dream and vision their entire lives, and their passion and love for their home is the true experience you will have at Bogarin a trail. If you are in La Fortuna, or in Costa Rica in general, make the time to visit Bogarin Trails. It’s a two hour tour, get the personal guide (ask for William, he’s a brilliant and beautiful human being), and go have the time of your life learning about Costa Rica, the surrounding area, it’s inhabitants, it’s animal species, and much more. I don’t write many reviews, but I had to write this one. I’m not exaggerating when I say Bogarin Trails was a life changing experience. You learn the true meaning of Pura Vida here. The world has a lot to learn from Costa Rica and the beautiful people at Bogarin Trails! This should be at the top of your list of things to do in Costa Rica, trust me. Enjoy!…

Review of: Afternoon Wildlife Hike
This activity was 100000% worth EVERY PENNY! The universe aligned for my partner and me and our guide was Joanny, the Trail creator. WOW! He was AH-MAZING! Talk about bird calls- WHEW! The man was legit talking to the birds! We saw many (3+) sloths and got an in-depth tour of the trail, why it was made, how it continues to educate children, youth, and adults, and the animals! DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR WITHOUT A GUIDE- you will be sorely disappointed. Can't wait to come back with my kids!…

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Bogarin Trail. Our guide was patient and very knowledgeable about local wildlife. We also enjoyed watching and learning about the birds at the entrance to the park.

My wife and I read numerous positive reviews about this place and contacted them via messenger. Within the hour, we had space reserved for the next day at 9:30Am for a 2-hour tour. We arrived early and were treated like family. Exceptional knowledge and a passion for wildlife was shown by our guide Jason. So much to see and hear about that 2.5 hours was almost not enough time. We saw four sloths, most moving around. Frogs, lizards and so many species of birds.....Hire the guide and get the full experience. Covid has hurt the numbers for this experience and I sincerely hope things pick up in the future. We nearly had the place to ourselves in the beginning of February, 2021 but then again, most of Fortuna is absent of tourists at this time. I wish we had more time to walk around but we had another obligation to attend. Keep up the great work over here guys and it was a pleasure meeting everyone involved. …

Definitely something you have to do while in La Fortuna if you want to see a sloth. Jason was our guide and he was amazingly at finding sloths and other animals. He was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. I enjoyed talking with Adriel back at the office. He shared stories and videos of a sloth giving birth and of an Agouti that got bitten by a Fer-de-lance viper snake but thankfully survived! We even got to take pictures of that same agouti when Adriel lured her out of the jungle with bananas! I loved everything about this place and if I’m ever lucky enough to return to Costa Rica, I’ll visit again. …
