William, brother to the owner of the park, was our tour guide. We did a night tour with him and he invited us to join him in the morning to see the birds. Review of: Afternoon Wildlife Hike
I really enjoyed my afternoon walk on the sloth trail. Eduardo was a great guide, pointing out birds, frogs and of course sloths. Borgarin is the ONLY one of it's kind that you should do while in La Fortuna/Arenal area! This is the original Sloth trail and the BEST! We had the privilege of meeting and talking with Giovanni Borgarin and he enlightened us to his vision and dream of one day having a beautiful trail and refuge for the Costa Rican Sloth and other wildlife, birds and creatures. He completely volunteered his time to making this dream come to fruition and it is wonderful! Well worth the time to do this trail and tour. Our only regret is that we opted out of having a personally guided tour. We saw plenty, but the guided tours see much, much more! Spend the extra $$ to have a guide!…

Review of: Afternoon Wildlife Hike
Our tour guide was William. His family owns the land that the Borgarin nature preserve is located on. He was amazing! I would definitely do this again. We saw birds, frogs ( that he caught for us) sloths and baby sloths, he told us about the different plants and ones they use for medicine. He grew up on Arenal volcano, and survived the 1968 eruption. He talk to us about the volcano and the town surrounding. It was wonderful. Only $35 a person! Totally worth every penny.…

We did this trail with a guide which is highly recommended because sloths are masters of camouflage and quite difficult to see! The guides will bring a telescope allowing you to get a better view. We were very fortunate in that we came across a very active mama sloth with her baby. Truly an unforgettable experience! …
