We loved our night hike here. It was just the 4 of us and our tour guide. It was raining lightly and that brought out the most amazing frogs. They were so loud! And colorful. We also saw a slot (huge) and caymans (small crocodiles) and amazing birds. I would definitely recommend doing the night hike.

We definitely enjoyed this excursion. We were contemplating whether or not to spend the extra money on the guided tour as we are fairly independent travelers we thought we would be fine by ourselves. Ultimately we decided to listen to the other reviewers and get the guided tour. Luckily we got Elias as our tour guide. As many other reviewers... More

We visited with a group and had a lovely hike through the reserve. Lots of interesting plants and trees. Saw many birds and a few animals. Never saw a sloth, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

I went on one of the two hour night hikes with my wife and two kids (ages 11 and 9). It was a wonderful experience. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and seemed to really care the mission of the Center -- to protect and educate about the wildlife. We saw several varieties of frogs, bats, a caiman, a... More

It's a small place but it harbours a lot of fauna and flora. We got to see sloths (even a juvenile), birds, caymans, butterflies...If you have time for just one tour, this is the one! Be sure to pay for the guide, well worth it, ours was amazing!

Danaus was an interesting place! We went with our three children(ages 6, 7 and 10). We saw sloths, birds, iguanas, frogs, butterflies and caiman. The sloths were high up and well camouflaged, which became a little frustrating for my 6 year old to see. The binoculars were no help for her, either. My older two could spot things and then... Brought our seven year old to see some cool frogs and sloths. Saw one red frog. No sloths. Very unimpressive attraction and definitely not worth the $37 it cost to do it (7-800 meter walk through trees). We went to the Los Lagos hot springs, which was awesome, and saw more wildlife (butterflies; crocodiles; frogs; aunts nest/city). I do not... More

We had a wonderful visit and were lucky to see tons of wildlife. The guide was very knowledgeable and experienced at finding wildlife. He took the time to make sure each of the four of us on the tour saw each thing and took photos for us through the binoculars. The walk was easy around beautiful grounds. We saw a... More

Ended up there because I went in to la fortuna town from my hotel and had some time to kill before an afternoon tour. was recommended by a few tour companies as something you can do with no reservation/with limited time. I enjoyed myself, but am surprised at all of the high ratings. They had no guides available, so I... More
