The Butterfly Conservatory offers a green and interesting place to see not only butterflies but also turtles, frogs and other small Costa Rican species. Access is a bit difficult, but it deserves the visit.

I'd recommend the animal sanctuary, we did day and learnt and saw do much. Yes within a " zoo" situation but we saw animals and frogs that we would not otherwise had seen
