just now I don't love tours, but I do love coffee and chocolate. I was looking for an out of the way, nontouristy tour. This one was really great, I very much recommend it. David was awesome. A thorough, informative, very interesting and comprehensive tour. I really loved it. Great sampling at the end of both coffees and chocolate... everyone just went over and above what they wouldve had to. I almost booked a different one, but the reviewers on this one were spot on. It's just a very short road off of the main drag in La Fortuna. Get this one while you can, before the tourists start invading again.

We had an excellent tour with David (with some roasting assistance from Mr. Antonio.) David was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! There was no pressure to purchase (although the products are so amazing that we did.) David spent so much time and attention to ensure everyone in the tour (2 groups for 6 people total) had a great time. We took both cacao and coffee from plant to multiple products (including samples.) The final chocolate tasting included a portion where you could experiment with additives like molasses, cinnamon, salt, cayenne etc. The coffee tasting included preparations of multiple roasts. We left with an appreciation for smaller family farms and for the products. Regarding Covid - excellent safety measures including masks by staff. The tour is all open air. The staff wore masks constantly. Some members of the group kept them on, some chose to take off especially in the field. However there was plenty of room always to socially distance. Handwashing available and prompted upon entry. We took two agriculture type tours during our trip, and we enjoyed this one the most out of the two. I travelled with my 12 year old who also enjoyed the tour.

Miner was very knowledgeable and eager to make our visit enjoyable. He shared history and details about the local community and personal stories. The coffee and chocolate processes were described and demonstrated with tasting to reinforce the learning. Some of us needed extra reinforcement. We highly recommend the tour.

My wife and I really enjoyed our coffee and chocolate tour at North Fields Coffee today. Our tour guide, David, was awesome and very knowledgeable and informative and he answered all of our many questions effortlessly. David went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed an incredible experience from the beginning to the very end. We learned so much during the tour about coffee, cacao, native plants, native animals, and Costa Rica and we enjoyed a variety of chocolates and several types of coffee at the end of the tour. Alan was also very helpful and friendly in demonstrating how sugar cane, coffee, and cacao are processed. We highly recommend this tour, and especially David, to anyone interested in a very educational and enjoyable experience!
