If you want a place to smoke cigars, and have a drink...

I smoke cigars, and wanted to listen to some music and have a drink while puffing on a stogie, but they do not have a huge selection. Some Cubans, though. There was a jazz group... read more

Love this place. Enjoyed great music and good food. Came in at 945pm and enjoyed some dessert and drinks. Nice way to end busy day.

Can't smoke inside only outside it's quite dark and dingy. Toilets upstrairs not very clean. Service very slow we went in happy hour and it wasn't even busy. Wine choices okay. Music was nice with videos but so many other nice places along the street.

Stopped by here, as it was the only seat available outside to enjoy the weather, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening. The Jazz band played some great tunes, but nothing too quirky, therefore, a novice music lover, such as myself, could enjoy the night. The band was really good, professional, and friendly. The... I sat in the front row through two shows at the CJW. The music was spectacular and the drinks were spot on! I am a professional musician and a certified master mixologist, so I am very discriminating when it comes to cocktails and live music. The CJW was more than I expected in every way. The service was splendid and... More

This little bar hidden amongst the thriving Xintiandi district is a great way to unwind at the end of the day while enjoying some Jazz from an International group of extremely talented musicians.

I smoke cigars, and wanted to listen to some music and have a drink while puffing on a stogie, but they do not have a huge selection. Some Cubans, though. There was a jazz group (piano, guitar, and sax) with a female singer from Las Vegas. She had a good voice, and the band was reasonably good. They played some... More

it is great to see old guys still playing, but it was a terribly slow night and very hard to say that the jazz was really cool, cause daddyo, it was a bit stilted with 88 and 90 year olds playing. Half way through the night the younger players took over, the horns were better but it was still a... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
