Beautiful Classic

If you can't afford to stay here, then make sure you visit the foyer at least, lots of beautiful architecture, cafes and history.

this hotel is old style, well located. Service is good, the executive plan is good. however, the internet is slow and the odor in the lobby is weird.

Very comfortable hotel except the air conditioner was pre-set and could not be changed. Which was a concern for us. As we like an airconditioner cold/cool not warm especially when trying to sleep. You need to ask for an extra sheet as they only have a bottom sheet and the doona. This is not comfortable when the air conditioner is... More

This is just one of many beautiful and classical buildings on the Bund side of the river. After dark, all the buildings on both sides of the river are beautifully lit, and this hotel is no different.

It was said afternoon tea at Peace Hotel was top notch in Shanghai. And the whole experience did not let me down. I visited this hotel on Chinese Lunar New Year and it is not surprised to see many tourists come to this place to take photos. And I was amazed by the architecture as well as decoration which reminds... More

The Hotel has an added Fairmount,Peace Hotel. Its a far cry from 2002. Love the decor and still has the same ambience as before. Love the music.

Loved everything about this hotel - the large and clean room, the atmosphere, the dining and food. All great. And, you can't beat the location across the street from the Bund and on a main shopping street.

We stayed two nights at Langham to be in French concession and three nights here. Langham is modern and flawless. Peace is also first-class, luxury hotel but appointed much more in the Chinese tradition. I liked it for that reason, and for it's locatio on the Bund. While decorated in Chinese fashion, the bathroom was quite modern. Concierge service was... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
