The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

Given my affection of water , boats and birds(not so many of these) a stroll along the embankment is clearly a must do.

The Riverside Promenade is a great place to stroll, take in the views and people watch. It is clean and safe, there are lots of flowers and best of all it is free.

The boardwalk is a fantastic stretch on the Pudong side of the huang pu river with views of the Bund. Nice restaurants, lovely breeze most of the time. Great to walk any time of day, lots to see!!! Very fond memories of this area!

On the afternoon we arrived in Shanghai, we had a lovely view of the Promenade, so decided to take a walk. Beautiful gardens and easy walking. Unfortunately it was very smoggy, however all the locals were jogging and riding their bikes along the Promenade.

This place could be quite warm during summer time so it is best to visit near sunset where it is cooler. It is lovely and nice to walk down the river while watching the cityscape and landmarks on the other side of the river.

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
