The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

Choose to go when it's not too cold nor too hot. Let the breeze comfort you, and it's more spacious at this side as considerably less people visiting compared to the Bund.

Riverside Promenade (Bingjiang Da Dao) - beautiful riverside - very clean and palm trees lined up to give shade.

few crowds before 9am but gets busier as the day goes on. Lots of people gather in the evening as the buildings across the river are lit up

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
