A museum dedicated to an important man in the history of China, in his former residence. Plenty of exhibits, with some English details (some are in Russian), with focus on the decade prior to his death. Original rooms/furniture are well preserved. Location easy to reach,...More

This is a really interesting museum. A lot of history and interesting artifacts - cheap entrance fee (20 Yuan) and relatively good information in English

I was surprised to see the former residence of Dr Sun Yat Sen so well preserved. Although he had never been a member of the Communist Party he is regarded a a hero and identified as a revolutionary, highlighting his links to the Party (and...More

The former residence of Sun Yat-Sen is a well-preserved home set in the former French Concession, in a pretty tree lined street not far from several academic institutions. It makes a relaxing outing, away from the congestion on the Bund area. It was interesting looking...More

A visit here has two interests: insight into the history of this leading figure and a visit to a historical house in the neighborhood. A quick stop is enough and can be combined with a visit of the area.

This is a very informative museum. Containing amazing historical information. It doesn't cost much to get in. You can even go into soong Ching lings home and see what it looked like when she lived there which is amazing. I learnt a lot from this.

This house museum is a memorial to the first president and founding father of the Republic of China. There's a lot of information contained in the interpretation panels around the rooms - much of it in Chinese - but it is a fascinating insight to...More

Great hour stop between fuxing park and other attractions in the French Concession. Good primary source materials on a fascinating man, who died before his full legacy was realized. Also good primary materials on his famous wife.

Most visitors will certainly leave this house-turned-museum with a better understanding of the role and times that Dr Sun Yat-sen lived through and connect this with what was going on elsewhere in the world. The critical role of Dr Sun's wife and political partner is...More

Former French Concession

Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,
