Different architecture from the rest

This place looks out of place and seems a building that should be in Europe , the building is stunning walked past it many times while there

Unfortunately for us the church is currently undergoing maintenance/renovation and isn't open to the public.

A place of worship is spiritually satisfying even if the service is observed in a language I can't verbally understand. The language of the heart is spoken here, and I can understand that language all around the world. The building is being restored over time, but is in acceptably nice shape now. Very friendly volunteers in the attached visitor center.

June 2016, church still being renovated. So not much to see of the outside as its all covered by scaffolding. Cannot go inside either. Should be nearly done (11/06/16) but doesn't look like they are close to ready.

I was hoping to see this cathedral from inside, but it was closed in April-May of 2016, because of the renovation. It's already closed for long time. The bad thing is that the government is leading this job, so finishing it as quickly as possible is not their priority. The Sunday masses are held in the other building near the... More

This old Catholic Cathedral of Shanghai is currently under renovation. Yet, it was impressive to see the many people that visit or pass by, especially the pilgrims attending the church events that take place in the Church building next door. There are weekday Masses at 6:15 and 7am, in a petit nice chapel on the ground floor. The square in... More

This church is magnificent (from many photos) and in the same neighborhood as the Longhua temple (the oldest in Shanghai) but the renovation is total. It is not only that you cannot visit inside but also the entire exterior is wrapped in green plastic so there is no 'nice selfies' to do here these days! Next to it there is... More

I attended mass here as I'm catholic and had heard so much about this beautiful church. Unfortunately, the main church was still under renovation, there was no way in and so we headed to the adjoining building for mass. Still if you're a catholic looking for a church for mass, I would recommend this church for its location, the priest... More

The church is named as a gothic one and is located on a very active neighborhood. I tried to visit yesterday but, due to a big reconstruction work, it is not open to the public. The lack of information on sites and folders and the language barrier didn't let me find out until when. Very easy to reach by metro.

The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities.
