Just visited this place during the public holidays. There are a lot of eateries places and very crowded. Definitely will be back again during non holiday season to have a quiet ambient and enjoy the old streets and houses.

I went there by subway. Very easy. Get on line 2 to Hongqiao railway station. Then transfer to line 17.
