Quite large museum, but very nice. If your time is more flexible, I would advise visiting in the week... a bit crowded on holidays and weekends.

A cross between the Guggenheim and the Natural History Musem. Modern theater experiences in each section starting from the Big Bang through human development. Extensive dinosaur display with three of them mechanized. Great fun for kids and adults. Developed by former Seattje Seahawk owner Kenneth...More

I enjoyed the exhibitions, regardless the poor taxidermist work with some of the most ridiculous expressions on the animal faces I've ever seen... Well organized, not too crowded even with 6500 people visiting it at the same time, but some of the info there was...More

What seemed like a promising museum ended up like a glossy magazine ( all pictures no substance). It seemed like the museum was geared towards local school children in both the depth of content of the exhibit as well as amount. I enjoyed looking at...More

Great half-day spent in this wonderful museum. Fabulous collection in a magnificent building. Lots of people but operates efficiently. You could go several times and never run out of interesting things to see.

Visited on week day and lots of well behaved school classes also attending. Handy to metro station. Modern, well laid out, sufficient English language used on exhibits, large café with straight food. Upon entry go to top level and then work your way down, take...More

I wasn't really prepared for the scope of this museum when I entered. This place is truly amazing and just when you think you've seen it all, you stumble upon another giant display. There are so many great exhibits to just stare at, but so...More

The best museum we have been to by a mile. Some incredible exhibits including real & cast huge dinosaurs. A must do in Shanghai.

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple,
while the main artery of excitement and entertainment
is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French
Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign
residents but displays a more commercial character.
Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and
trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing

The museum is open on all days. I can't remember when they open but I seem to remember it's early, 8 or 9 am, and they close at 5:15pm with the last tickets being sold at 4:45pm.
