We visited many places in shanghai and stayed in another district. The french concession doesn"t seem chinese. Also the restaurants are expensive!!

Providing the Shanghai summer isn't too oppressive then this area is great for a walk around. Some nice coffee shops, bars etc but nothing in particular of interest.

It's a lovely designed area with beautiful tree lined streets and a lot of restaurant bars and very expensive top end shops with prices to match in all the businesses down there even the food and drink venues.

As Peter B answered, your Hotel will help you and they will also tell your taxi driver. Remember to get a Hotel card or directions in local language for your return trip to your Hotel. Not all drivers speak enough english... More
