An amazing day of outdoor adventure
May 2021
My husband and I rode this trail years ago and loved it. We decided to go back this weekend, and we were surprised to find that it is now even better than it was when we first gave it a go. There were plenty of CLEAN bathrooms, shaded benches, observations points, and well paved trails!. It made for an amazing day of outdoor adventures. We will definitely be returning!

Had been a few years since on the trail - so many enhancements - the new overlook is fantastic. Bathrooms on the trail - lots of benches.

Awesome trail

Neat trail, only saw an alligator but lots of yellow flies, so use bug spray. Not very busy on a Tuesday morning. Would definitely do it again.

What an amazing trail
Apr 2021
My daughter and I rode bikes (complimentary from the hotel) each day we were in Gulf Shores. Through four days of riding (anywhere from 10-18 miles per day), we pretty much covered the entire park and all the trails. What a great time we had, riding through all various types of scenery. We got to see alligators and a tortoise, as well as numerous cool birds. We both absolutely loved our time riding through these trails.

diversion from the beach
Mar 2021
A fun place to go away from the beach for awhile. We did see 1 small alligator. The best part by far was the ability to use bikes that are in the park for free for 3 hrs (just have to download the app). It was the easiest way to get around and made our time there much more enjoyable.
The park is mostly swamp land, grasses, and walking/biking trails.

Great trail!
Jan 2021 • Couples
This is a great easy trail for walking and biking. There’s a map and many signs along the paths. With a total of 28 miles of paved paths, you can walk just a short way or longer. They have bikes available to use. There are many benches along the paths.

Wonderful Trail System
Dec 2020 • Solo
With 20 miles of paved trails and boardwalks perfect for running, biking, or walking, this is a must do! Beautiful ecosystems and opportunities to spot wildlife, though sadly I only saw a few armadillos. Running and wildlife viewing seem to be mutually exclusive.

Nice place to walk & bike
Nov 2020
Walked a small part of 2 trails while I was in the area on vacation. I think the description of "backcountry" in the name can be misleading as at least the parts I walked didn't feel like I was in the backcountry. Very well maintained paved trails and boardwalks. I would recommend for people who like wide level and well maintained walking / bike paths. I wish I had had time to rent a bike as that seems like it would be the best way to enjoy this place.

Highly recommend for cyclists, walkers, and runners
Nov 2020
My husband and I rode these trails for a couple hours, two days while we were in town for a week. Beautiful nature trail - we saw armadillos, a bobcat, and alligators (Lefty and her babies in their normal spot and another gator swimming in one of the lakes). Beautiful views, nice and shaded - highly recommend for cyclists, walkers, or runners.
