Description:

Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, AL is a favorite destination for music...

Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, AL is a favorite destination for music fans. He is a treasure to the City of Montgomery and the State of Alabama, and we are paying tribute to the life and accomplishments of this magnificent legend whose name survives in a way that is unique in the history of Music.

It is amazing after so many years that there are still things to be said...song to be sung. Year by year since Hank's death in 1953, the real impact his songs made on American Music becomes more evident. His lifelong fans continue, and new admirers are added with each generation.

Hank Williams crowded a lot of living into twenty-nine years.

It is safe to say, perhaps Hank Williams said all he had to say.

We are proud to say that all of the artifacts are authentic.

Exhibits include the 1952 Cadillac in which he died, 17 stage suits including Nudie , custom made boots, cowboy hats, tie collection, furniture, portraits, records, horse saddle, piano, awards, rare photos, family history and personal film footage. Experience the history of the first country music superstar and see how Hank Williams transformed country music and sowed the seeds of what was to become American Music, blues, rockabilly and even rock and roll.

If you're a fan of the older style country music and Hank Williams was your favorite then this is something you'd love to see. However as amazing as this place is you can not take pictures inside the museum. But it's something to see, you learn a lot by seeing all the stuff they have that use to belong to... More

The museum is filled with memorabilia from Hank's country music career. Hank Williams music playing in the background was a nice touch. The museum is tastefully done and you leave with better understanding of his life which ended way too soon.

Had to see this place--A lot of memorabilia packed into a small area. Not over crowded, just much more than we thought we'd see. Learned a lot of this country star's life that we weren't aware of- Really enjoyed the visit!

Thank you for the comments. Folks don't realize the space that we have behind our store front. We have so much behind those walls that it's unbelievable but a surprisingly wow. More

This is a small museum in a store front. The front part of the store is a gift shop and the small museum is in the back. There is a lot of Hank memorabilia: photographs of Hank Williams, clothing he wore and the Cadillac in which he died. I thought it was a tad overpriced, but if you are a... More

Hi and thank you for taking time to leave your comments. I understand how someone may think we are small (we don't think so when we vacuum 6000 sq ft) but I want to make clear to readers that the gift shop is in the front and 5 times that much space is in the exhibit area. Over 35 showcases... More

I remember the day Hank Williams died and who informed me of the event, though I was only 4 years old! I sang his songs to anyone who would listen to me and to those who didn't want to listen, too. I was a super-fan. I was upset at his death. So going to this museum was a "bucket-list" item... More

Private collection of any/every thing related to Hank Williams. Very interesting. My husband and I spent an hour browsing/reading about the singer's life. Blue Cadillac is in the center. No photographs, which is disappointing for tourists like us. Staff was friendly - we showed up 1/2 hr before close (as did some others) and they ended up staying open an... More

We are not huge country music fans and didn't know that much about him, but we enjoyed our visit to this museum. Entrance fee is $10pp, which is reasonable. It's not a massive place but is packed full of artifacts including various outfits and the blue Cadillac in which he died.

I'd definitely recommend checking this out if you're a country music fan, it will give you a glimpse into the world of country music in a much simpler time, you'll definitely want to take a few minutes to read over everything, Hank was a true catalyst for the launch of Country Music genius!

We stopped by the museum on a trip to another destination. We all have an interest in music and this museum is a great little gem. The staff is courteous and well-versed in the subject matter. They are friendly and helpful. The parking was was crowded and we had to make the block several times to find a parking spot.... More

Not my favourite style of music but still found the history, memorabilia and the life story fascinating - you don't need to spend a lot of time here to understand his importance and influence.
