Try and visit during a church service

We were fortunate to visit the church during a mass in Chinese. Hearing the congregation singing, "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" in Chinese was most enjoyable.

As we patiently walk and look for the signs of the Dutch Square under the heat of the sun, we stumbled on this beautiful, prominent yet not so huge structure located right along the road.It is right across the red wall which states Melaka World Heritage City. We were so happy then, we took a photo of the church, then... More

They may be small but the Christians have left their mark on Melaka with the old colonial buildings across the region. It is interesting to see that after all this time these places are still standing. I wouldn't say this is a tourist spot but something of interest the contrasts the population that actually live here. This is a sleepy... More

In Melaka you can find mosques, temples and churches...all right by each other. This Catholic Church was built in 1856, actually built on the site of an old Portuguese Church. The building is in really good repair and the windows are beautiful.

A must go church for Catholics for its historical significance of the missionaries who came and for those not worshipping - an old church with amazing architecture

I walk along from the Dutch square to the river n up to this church. Ended on the wall of Malacca as an UNESCO city. The church looks so bold but beautiful. The white brown structure will capture your heart. I don't go inside but enjoying taking picture along. Around it, you will find ancient scatter structure.

It is one of those old church, small and intimate. I have been to many churches and this is the first one i saw with a St Michael Statue. I went to mass early in the morning at 7.30am and I like this timing as I could go back to the hotel for the breakfast.

Went for service on Sunday. Extremely peaceful and serene. Church was built in memory of Francis Xavier the missionary. Statue of him with a Japanese disciple outside.
