For a westerner who knows little about Islam, the museum provided a good insight into the history of Islam in Malaysia, and something of its culture. There's plenty so see and the entry price is small.

Small building with a decent-sized collection of Islamic artifacts, and plenty of information about Islamic culture. The artifacts themselves look very nice and cover a wide variety of mediums, from practical objects like teacups and vases to religious texts and similar items. The outer area is nicely landscaped too and is a good place to rest for a few minutes.... More

Provides a good amount of information about Islam, the history of Islam and Islam in Malaysia. A great deal to learn, I spent 2-3 hours inside. Entrance is only 3 RM. The few staff that were there were speaking very loud, but they will keep silent if you ask them to. I definitely recommend visiting this museum.

Islamic things, but not really interesting. And not much too see either. I think it is a waste of time. The building is nice, though. It's catchy and red.

This museum is located ta the foot of St John's Hill and housed in a striking building that was once the Dutch officers quarters. Documents and artifacts pertaining to the Islamic religion and how it came to Malacca and spread to the entire country is exhibited here. Worth a visit to view the impressive building the museum is housed in.

This museum is housed in an old building that once was home to the Melaka Islamic Council. The burgundy-color building is two levels high situated on a raised, tiered foundation - most impressive. For someone who is not too familiar with Islam this was the perfect museum for me to get a brief overview of the religion, its teachings and... More

Was great to be able to walk into a 400 year-old building and look around. It was once the Dutch officers quarters. As a museum though, not as impressive. I was just happy to have a walk through such an old and historic building.
