We were in cabin 10, yes it has a good view of mountains, Valley. The cabin was alright. The only thing I didn't like was the water in the shower didn't get very hot. The bathroom sink water got hotter over the shower. Bring some flip flops to go in the bathroom. The floor is super cold. Also, there is... More

This was our second visit to Monte Sano State Park. The hiking trails are clearly marked and make for beautiful walks year round. We've visited in the summer and winter and had very pleasant weather both trips. The views are gorgeous and captivating. There is a charge to enter the park, but well worth it if you plan to spend... My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend in the park. We rented one of the cabins and enjoyed the wonderful views. On the second day we got up early enough to watch a beautiful sunrise. We were treated when four deer walked out about 50 yards from us and then walked between us and the sunrise. The cabins are... More

Visited February 17-20, 2017. Overall very pleased with our visit. Stayed in CCC cabin, very simple yet accommodating. Our kitchen was cramped but usable as was the bath, not bad for 75+ years old! Bring a flashlight for use ...even inside! All trails are well marked and easy to navigate. Don't pass on Stone Cuts - the trail isn't that... More

We took a drive up to monte sano today. It was perfect outside. It was our first time there so we sort of explored. And loved the views of Huntsville and the log cabins surrounded by tall trees. Lots of beautiful home up here too!

I came here with a friend that I was visiting who recently moved to Alabama and we tried out one of trails called old rail road bed, It was easy to navigate and the trail was very easily marked - the trails weren't very crowded at all. I would suggest that either bikers or easy going hikers would like this... More

We tent camped our first stay at Monte Sano State Park, had a great view of the city lights. Our second visit, was with out RV this site did not provide the great views, but was not a bad site at all. Over all the campgrounds are well ran and well maintained and with gated access to the campground area.

Haven't done many of the trails, just the main one when you first Drive in. That one is pretty steep, so be aware of that. There's also plenty of picnic tables asks areas for kids and grown ups alike to run around...for a game of wiffle ball, playing catch, tossing Frisbee, etc. Nice playground for the little ones. There are... More

Stayed for an anniversary weekend. We live in Huntsville and always wanted to stay in one of the CCC built cabins. Kitchen has the essentials (refrigerator, stove top, sink) but you are the dish washer. Bathrooms are cramp, but private. Great trails to hike. Reasonable priced but you need to reserve early to get your desired dates. Want to plan... More

My wife and I traveled here to visit my brother and we took a hike out to the natural well. It's a fairly easy hike and about 4 miles round trip from the parking lot. Lot's of interesting rock formations and a fascinating deep natural well in the limestone. Pretty cool hike!
