Prices to high for day boat rental when you have to pay for gas !
Jan 2019 • Couples
Visited Town Creek Fishing Center over Memorial Day 2019. Staff very friendly and helpful. However, at the end of our daily rental - we were charge $59.00 for filling the pontoon back up. At the start of our trip - the attendant carried (2) one gallon gas cans to fill the tank....and yet upon our return...filled the boat up from the gas pump upon our return. A total of $59.00.... for what we estimate our use of fuel to be only 4 gallons of gas. The gas gauge had not moved from "FULL" during our day trip.

Thank you for your review. We will definitely look into the process used here for gassing up the boats. I personally have spent up to $50 on a return boat, however, I went all over the lake. If you would like to discuss this further feel free to contact the park office.

Love this place!
Apr 2017 • Couples
Recently visited this area and throughly enjoyed our day. Did a little fishing, had a little fire. Nice spots to pitch a tent and spend the night. Very reasonable. Will be back.

Great place on the lake for gas!
May 2016 • Family
Went here to get gas in the boat over Memorial Day weekend. Good prices. Also have fishing supplies, cold drinks, etc... They have camping across the way on the lake, no full hookups though.

Thank you for your response on the Town Creek Fishing Center. We are looking to upgrade our campsite at Town Creek in the future. Until then, we do allow boondock camping here.

Boat rentals great, campground sad
Jul 2015 • Couples
Years ago, I stayed at the Town Creek campground probably 50+ times (almost every weekend for a couple of years) - lots of trees, and just a comfortable place to camp. But now, since the tornado hit a couple of years ago, there's NO shade. The campground has dwindled to nothing - it's a sad place to be.

The fishing center building was nice and cold though, and the service was great. We wanted to rent a 14' bass boat, but none of the bass boats in any size was available (some were being repaired.) So the young man working the counter worked out another deal for us on a pontoon boat for a couple of hours. It got us out on the lake, which is what we wanted, so that was good. The boat was in great shape - although the fuel gauge didn't work.

We'll probably rent boats from them again, but we'll wait a few years to see if the new trees will provide some desperately needed shade.

We rented a couple of kayaks there. Prices are very reasonable, equipment worked fine. I love the area, very scenic and peaceful. I will definitely come back with friends to rent a fishing boat.

Although this is quite the delay in response, I wanted to reach out to you and thank you for your review. We now have kayak tours around the Town Creek area. It is a beautiful view this time of year.

Rented a two place kayak for 1.5 hours. The Town Creek is restricted access, meaning no skiing or tubing. Secluded and scenic for nonmotor water craft.
