About
Located along the banks of the Tennessee River in Northeast Alabama, Lake Guntersville Resort State Park promises to satisfy whether you are looking for a resort style retreat, or an outdoor adventure in the park’s 6,000 acres of natural woodlands. Among the park’s many recreational offerings are an 18-hole championship golf course, a beach complex, an outdoor nature center, excellent fishing in Alabama’s largest lake, 36 miles of hiking and biking trails, weekly guided hikes, and a Day Use Area. Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the Dam during the winter, though some bald eagles stay all year. Guntersville Lake fish habitat includes milfoil and hydilla weed beds from which big bass explode on topwater baits.

Great Views, Private Location
Oct 2020
When we first drove up, I thought the cabins looked a little plain because there were no windows on the front of the building; therefore, it was a nice surprise to walk in and find the entire back of the cabin lined with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake. This made the cabin nice and private with stunning views of the water. Our cabin sat very close to the water with a deck that stretched across the back of it. It was a great place to wrap up and read on a cool October morning. We had a friendly blue heron that fished the waters, along with a few bass fisherman who came into our quiet cove to fish. There was a little stretch of lawn between the cabin and the lake and a grill and firepit were tucked here. The cabin had a large open central room that included a living area with a comfy leather sofa and oversized chair, a couple of end tables and a coffee table; a dining area with a large round table and four chairs; and a small kitchen that was stocked with a coffee pot, microwave, electric stove, oven, frig (ice trays in the freezer) and sink. There was a nicely sized bedroom on either side of this space. Each had its own bathroom and the same floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake (all the windows came with an easy to lower shade that could be used for privacy). One bedroom had a king-sized bed, the other two queen-size. Our particular cabin was handicap accessible. There was one other that was marked as handicap accessible, and as someone who has a disabled parent, this cabin really WAS handicap accessible with a roll-in shower, ramp to the back deck and a bridge to enter.

The lot by the lake was so peaceful - woke up to deer in our lot each morning - lots of places to hike - and if you like to fish - its the ticket.

Way Beyond Expectations!
Nov 2019
First time staying at the beautiful lodge. Absolutely breathtaking views from room balcony of Lake Guntersville. We have taken overnight golf trips to Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan and Alabama State Parks and Lake Guntersville Lodge is by far the nicest lodge we have ever experienced. Eagle Nest Golf Course views were spectacular and the coure extremely enjoyable. We definitely will be back to stay and play!!

While we appreciate your 5-star review, we would like to note that the Lodge and Cabins are separate entities at Lake Guntersville State Park. If you would like to leave your very kind review for the Lodge, you can leave the review on the Lake Guntersville State Park page. Thank you, and we hope that you might consider visiting one of the cabins here as well!

Our 'go-to' place!
Apr 2019 • Friends
We always take our out of town guest to the Guntersville State Park Lodge for breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet. My husband enjoys treating us girls to the beautiful view and the excellent food. It is also a wonderful ride of our motorcycle with all the "twisties" curves. The folks around there are most friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Park with Views
Apr 2019 • Couples
We love driving through Guntersville State Park and spending time there. The views from the lodge and chalets are awesome, and there are nice cabins near the lake. They have a nice restaurant in the lodge, a sandy beach, boat dock, campground, and golf course. It has been a while since we played golf, but we enjoyed the course. You might spot some eagles or deer depending on what time of day you are there.

Great fall day

This is my favorite state park campground. If you or your family haven’t visited this park it’s worth a trip. It’s beautiful in any season and has abundant wildlife to see and watch. Deer are everywhere and not afraid to come close and maybe get a treat from you. Try this park it’s clean and new and will be the park you come back to for a lifetime.

Absolutely amazing time!
Jul 2018 • Couples
There was so much to do! We stayed in one of the cabins with an incredible view of the lake from above. Their hotel area was very impressive and the staff very helpful. They had golfing, geocaching, high ropes and a really nice campground. Wildlife was plentiful and we saw deer frequently. It was a great trip.

Weekend getaway before total knee replacement!!
Aug 2018 • Couples
My husband and I went to Guntersville. We stayed at the state park lodge. We got there Friday August 3 the sun was setting we had a lake view. It was beautiful. They had an all you could eat seafood buffet. But it was after 7 we waited for my sister and her husband. I don't like to eat late so we ordered off the menu. Food was really good. Then we sat outside with a beautiful lake view. Talked for awhile. Went to our rooms. Rooms very clean bed was very comfortable. We ate breakfast at the all you could buffet. At the lodge it was wonderful. The severs were super nice. The staff was great. I want to go back but gotta get this knee better. It was a great weekend. We went kayaking and just enjoyed the view and food!! The pictures are from the balcony of our room.
