About
Gulf State Park's two miles of beaches greet you with plenty of white sun-kissed sand, surging surf, seagulls and sea shells, but there is more than sand and surf to sink your toes into. Inside Gulf State Park there is a brand new Gulf Front lodge and Conference Center, beach pavilion, National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World Cottages, tennis courts, camp sites, 28 miles of paved/enhance trails and a fishing pier that is 20-feet wide and extends 1,512 feet into the Gulf. This and much more make Gulf State Park the perfect in-state vacation or out-of-state adventure.

Bicycle trail riding a real highlight!
Apr 2021
We visited the Gulf State Park and were delighted to find a free bike-sharing program! We saw folks on the trail as we passed and wanted to walk there, but there are actually 28 miles of trail and riding was far better. The bikes are really nice coaster/beach bikes with comfortable adjustable seats. They are well-maintained and FREE! Download the app and scan to borrow. Return them where you started and enjoy dipping your toes in the Gulf the rest of the day.

Must Visit Site in Gulf Shores
May 2021
We parked at the interpretive center and beach pavilion and walked on the well built trails through the campground to the lodge, restaurant and fishing pier. This is a beautiful state park with many attractions, great views and very modern amenities. There is a lot more to do, then we had time to experience during our morning trip. This is a location I would definitely visit again when I had more time to explore. Worth checking out.

A must visit!!
Apr 2021
We camped in the campground at Gulf State Park and although the weather wasn't the greatest while we were there, Gulf State Park is a beautiful area that we definitely want to get back to some day. We didn't get a chance to walk many trails because of the rain but what we did were nice. The pier was a nice area along with the beach. So clean. We will be back to do more some day!!

Not happy
Apr 2021 • Couples
For the amount of money we paid for site 64 we were very disappointed. Check in was very smooth, but that's the only positive. We were not informed that a majority of the bathrooms were closed, but they could have provided more portable toilets. Only 2 were provided to replace 3 bathrooms. Our site was dirty and we noticed alot of trash throughout the park. It rained the 18 hours we were here, not the fault of the park, so I can't comment on the amenities in the park. We won't return.

What a jewel for the area!
Apr 2021
I've visited this area numerous times but never realized there was a State Park! This time, since our hotel was located in the State Park (the Lodge), we really got to explore the park. It was amazing with all types of foliage and terrain. We had such fun on the trails riding bikes. I highly recommend this place...simply wonderful!

Awesome free bikes available. Nice walking trails. So glad we did this. Cabins were being repaired so could not see but would definitely recommend visiting.

Bikes and Eagles
Mar 2021
Super fortunate to score one of the freebie bikes for some trail riding. Most used the perfectly wide paved path. Along our trail ride, stopped at a 'viewing station' with two telescope viewers to see a huge eagles nest. Saw Momma or Dad Eagle at the nest with two babies peeking out. Great glimpse of nature. The small boardwalk pier was lovely to feel like I was out in the water without being in a boat. Unfortunately the QR coded nature facts did not work because there was no internet connection along certain parts of the walk. Gorgeous, a must-do for visitors.

Hidden Gem on the Alabama Gulf Coast
Mar 2021
A hidden gem of the Alabama Gulf Coast. Almost thirty miles of paved biking/hiking trails through a number of different ecosystems. We saw alligators, armadillos, osprey, bald eagles, butterflies, blue herons, snowy egrets, among other things. Bike trails include several very long raised wood bridges that allow you to access some of the swampier parts of the park. Beautiful natural environment.
