Chattakpur is a nice place; a small village with few families residing in extreme cold and geographic conditions. A lovely place near the Senchal Wildlife sanctuary; 2 Hours drive from NJP on hilly roads

The road to Chatakpur from Sonada station is wonderful..the road amidst forest make you feel wild..the place is just like a fairy..a short jungletrek to a pokhri..the hike to view point trail for Kanchenjungha view..the warm welcome of local people..a memorable stay here..

The Chattakpur forest range spreads from Dilaram to Sonada at a height of approximately 7 to 8 hundred feet above sea level. It is a mix of primary deciduous forest with the himalayan oak and secondary forests of cryptomaria japonica . Not for tourists who want to shop ! a calm & quite village, very good & trustwotthy people. paradise for birdwatchers. View of Mt. Kanchanjungha from "View Point" is amazing. Trecking to the deep forest is quite thrilling.

This is one of the best places to visit while in Darjeeling. Located at the top of the hill, it is off old military road and the entire region falls under the forest department. This little village is not far from Darjeeling, but it is hidden away from the crowds. It's a mountain village, which is surrounded by a dense forest. The total population is less than 100. It is awesum place. I have been there in DECEMBER'13. Stayed in a HOME STAY arranged by Mr. Vinod Pradhan (M: 9609740489). Very close to nature place. We were the 1st group visitors who visited this place :) It was very new and we were in class 10 ..... we girls planned to visit this place by walking and we all were so exhausted that few of girls wanted to give up but we didn't gave up because we really wanted to see this beautiful village .......
