Great for nature lovers. The entrance is free but very difficult to find anyone to open the door. Does not maintain regular visiting hours..so prepare to be dissapointed.Located in Dow Hill , Kursong next to the forest training school. one can see stuffed animals, birds, butterflies, including some rare species. varieties of woods, sculptures, etc can be seen. the museum is located in quiet place and is not crowded unlike other museums. Photography is prohibited.

The forest museum is in Dow Hills, Kurseong. The complex also holds the Forest School. The Museum is a two storey building. It contains animal skins, bones and hides and wooden products. It also has models of different dams, forest houses etc. And it has a skeleton. We did not have to buy a ticket, entrance is free.

This is a unique taxidermy museum with a huge collection of animals . Good for one visit but not maintained properly

The Forest Museum has a fabulous collection of Butterflies. Rare species are seen here. The stuffed Birds and bigger animals are also in a pretty goos number. But a general lack of upkeep and maintenance is getting to the specimen.The specimen are detereorating very badly and if some correction is not done in time, it may literally go to dogs.... More
