I don't think that any of the matro city has this type of gigantic temple.. A very good temple and must visit place of Chennai. I also enjoyed the live performance of classical music by well-known Priya Sisters there.

Kapaleeshwar temple surely has its historical and religious significance in Chennai, and is worthy visiting if you are history and architecture lover. However, the visiting experience I had there was not very good. Maybe I was a bit over sensitive but the people in those stalls along the street of the entrance under the high tower started to "lure" me... More

What to say about the place. Cannot describe the serenity, peace of mind and awe for the architect. Must visit if you are in Chennai. You will feel the presence of divine here. Enjoy the local prasadam and Bharatnatyam dance when somebody is performing.

On such days outside the Temple people used to... More

Probably the most famous temple in a city choc-o-bloc with them. The devout visit this Shiva temple for its 'strength', my visits though are to view its beautiful architecture and I still cant escape the positive energy its exudes. A must visit for visitors to Chennai to get a glimpse at the soul of the city

If you want to define what a temple is and how it should be, this is a very good example of it. Right in the middle of the city, yet once you get in, you get such a peaceful feeling and I used to visit this temple more for thi relaxation than devotion. I also love the colourful sculptures all... More

We enjoyed our visit to the temple, it was so spiritual and colourful, not only the temple but the atmosphere too. The temple itself is in a busy street and easy to get to, also known as Lord Shiva temple as told by a local.
