This expansive beach is Chennai's most famous tourist attraction, though the undercurrent is too strong for all but the strongest swimmers. Look out for the "Kannagi" statue on Marina Beach, which tells the story of the legendary character from a South Indian epic.

A must visit for a chennai ite, or a person visitng chennai.. Located in the heart of the city. It makes for a perfect family outing , be it enjoying the waters, or relaxing, unwinding .One can spend hours just watching the waves dashing the shore. Summer evenings do get crowded. But that adds to the lively atmosphere.

Never get tired of visiting marina beach.. especially with your soul mate. Or a early morning jog on humid Sundays.. perfect.. cleanliness drive recently has been good. Still efforts required to keep bayside / water margin clean

Largest beach. Enjoy walking in the sand. "Sundal" is a must eat at marina beach . Also taste the variety of bhajjis. Kids can enjoy a lot in the. Beach water and enjoy the local flavours of icecream If you taste good quality icecream visit aavin near the beach.

Remember going to marina beach as a kid with my parents and cousins about 20 years ago...we flew kites, played in the beach and had fun...
