Shivaji Park is a serene park near the sea. It helps that the streets and buildings around it are tree-lined so that even hot Mumbai afternoons can be bearable. A lovely place for a walk early in the morning, afternoon or evening.

Its the birthplace of many Indian cricketers. They honed their cricketing skills at this place before moving on to the International arena.

I can always be nostalgic about this place as all my childhood is spent here. This is a place very dear to Marathi Manus ( man) and Marathi ( maharashtrian)culture. At one side of it is a Marriage & exhibition hall and a famous Ganesh temple ( udyan-Ganesh) not very far from it. Once this place was surrounded by Bungalows... More

Surely a huge park to stroll / run / jog, the place definitely needs more sanity and cleanliness. Most of the times you will notice cricket as the primary sport in this park

If there is an oasis of peace amidst chaos in Central Mumbai, then this is it. Depending on the time of the day, there are joggers, walkers, cyclists gossipers, playing children, junk-food eaters(plenty of stalls for this) practising sport persons (cricket, malkhamb, football), lovers, oglers, or just do-nothings, worshippers ( kalimata temple or udyan Ganesha Mandir) A magnificent statue of...
