How can you come to Mumbai and not see this place. Iconic, beautiful. It was busy with locals and tourists when we were there. The place was well kept and security is tight. All in all i enjoyed this place.

A tour of Bombay wouldn't be complete without a stop here. Go early to avoid crowds and get the morning light.

The Gateway of India is very spectacular. It was built for the visit of King George V and Queen Mary and completed in 1924. The monument is illuminated at night. It is very popular with visitors and locals with good views over the bay. It is also the embarkation point for tour boats heading for a island that has many... More

We loved the boat ride to see the Gateway of India. The area in front was closed with black divisions, they were preparing for a concert so couldn't take a picture. Too crowded.

It falls in an area called as Colaba in South Mumbai, the city part of Mumbai. A pristine structure from the British days and has the Taj Mahal Hotel in front both the old and new Taj. A good area for people to visit and probably take a boat ride at the Gateway. Generally crowded on weekends.

It is one of the oldest construction built with stones and still going strong, worth seeing.... hundreds of people come in the evening to see the beautiful waves of the sea lashing on the walls of the Gateway of India . You can... More
