Great for Kids to Learn about this Great Person

Our kids watched Ghandi Movie on flight over and we ended our week at the museum. They do a nice, kid-friendly presentation of the major themes of his remarkable life.

To stand in the room where Gandhi spent the last days of his life -- where he slept, meditated, wrote in his journals, sat at his spinning wheel -- be prepared for a profound experience. Then, just outside this room are the footsteps that lead to the prayer site where he was assassinated on January 30, 1948. Incredibly moving. Don't... More

As well as the obvious historical aspect of the museum I found the area to be peaceful and tranquil having such a relaxing ambience which surprised me considering all the conflicting history the place holds. Grandi' s sleeping area is on display as well as items he used. There are lots of photos and quotes situated in the house and... More

This visit was suggested by our taxi driver and we are so pleased that we went. Amidst the mayhem of Delhi this museum is peaceful as soon as you walk through the gates, you can stay as long as you like and the staff are happy to talk you through the last days of Gandi's life.

Anyone who knows anything about Gandhi needs to come for a visit. The house with his belongings is a must see and the museum is well annotated in English, as well as Hindi. Remarkable history, well presented.

Interesting historical record of Mahatma Ghandi's life, with many photographs, accompanied by text for enthusiasts. Many personal objects exhibited including a mock-up of his work room with weaving equipment. Also shown are the clothes he was wearing when he was assassinated. Very informative about this remarkable man.
