It has been cleaned by the army and now the water is much more clear and you can see clearly that it is a precious thing for the people at Jaffna.

It's a huge well, while it's called bottomless, there is a board that documents the Navy divers finding objects at the bottom...they say it's sweet water at the top and seawater at the bottom..with underground tunnels possibly connecting t to other water bodies. Interesting
