Go early morning. Be prepared to wait. And the birds WILL come. Had some awesome sightings of Spot-billed duck almost by the roadside. Plenty of water birds during the migratory season.

This is one stretch of land that one must watch for a couple of hours to watch the colors change with the changing of daylight. the reflections & the silhouettes in the evening & morning create a fantastic spectacle a treat to watch.

I am presuming that the road across the causeway has been renewed following the end of the civil war. It provides a spectacular way of connecting mainland Jaffna with the several islands that lie off the northwest coast of Sri Lanka
