Fabulous experience, and great for bird-spotting. This is a very nice drive on a very long marine road leading from the mainland to one of the nearby islands of Jaffna.

Go early morning. Be prepared to wait. And the birds WILL come. Had some awesome sightings of Spot-billed duck almost by the roadside. Plenty of water birds during the migratory season.

This is a very nice drive on a very long marine road leading from the mainland to one of the nearby islands, somewhat like the Florida keys. You can see many birds and it is very peaceful. This is an attraction which you would see...More

This is one stretch of land that one must watch for a couple of hours to watch the colors change with the changing of daylight. the reflections & the silhouettes in the evening & morning create a fantastic spectacle a treat to watch.

I am presuming that the road across the causeway has been renewed following the end of the civil war. It provides a spectacular way of connecting mainland Jaffna with the several islands that lie off the northwest coast of Sri Lanka

This is interesting stretch of road to travel, cushioned by water on both sides. Interesting to see the prawn nets and see the local fisherman harvesting prawns. Local boys often dive among the coral dams looking for Octopus
