Most famous and sacred place among the buddhists as well as other religons. Always crowded and better if you can visit after 7.00 pm. gates will be closed sharp @ 10.00 p.m. but can stay inside after 10.00 too.

We went here while it was raining. The walk around it was nice and calm. Wear modest clothes as it's a religious site. The ambience around it is peaceful and there are ample boards reminding "not to be busy "

This stuff built by King Duty Gemini. this is the largest steps in Anuradhapura ancient city. When you are going there go early in the early morning or after 3pm. Because during the day time you can not walk there because of heavy sun light.
