The picture showed here is very old. They have now built a new tower, a lot better than the old one. Even though you can only see a few lines from top, it is a nice view and wonderful to see the lines so close. If you are not overflying in one of the planes, you must go up the tower at least. Very cheap also

great for people on a budget!

You have a great view of 3 of the lines, and its only s./4 for the tower and s./3 each way to catch a bus out there. makes seeing some of the cool history of the area possible for those of us who can't splurge on a flight!

Waste of time

We stopped for 15mins at the viewing tower as part of the Peru Hop bus to Arequipa from Huacachina. I would not recommend paying for the entry to the viewing tower; you can see three of the Nazca Lines, as advertised, but it’s a fairly underwhelming experience overall.
If you can deal with travel sickness and have the money for it the flight is apparently cool but (very) many throw up during the ride.

Great view

We originally stopped at about 5.15 but the queues were really busy and we would not have gone up the tower before sunset. So we came back very early the next day - it was worth it. There was no-one there apart from the security people. Not even the stall holders. It meant we could all go up the tower and no rush to come back down. The lines are amazing and you wonder why someone would build a road through one!! Worth the visit and cheap 3-4 sol depending on when you went. They are building another tower on the other side of the road which looks more substantial.

Pretty good view from the tower of 3 different lines. Unique in that you can see where the road cut the lizard in half

Nothing special to see

It was a disappointment on our way to Nasca. The tower is pretty small and the lines close to this tower are also small, I was quite surprised. You even have to pay an entrance fee of 4 Soles to go to the tower. Overall I don’t recommend to visit it, there are much more nicer places in Peru and for me personally the road itself in the area of Nasca was more interesting than the tower and the lines.

Three figures
Dec 2018 • Solo
I had seen the Nasca lines from the air, but did not want to miss out on a stable view from nearby. From the tower one can see three different figures, including the tree and the lizzard. One can also see many geometric lines such as trapezoids and lines that may be pointing towards the Cahuachi pyramids.

It is a place you must visit

At first we have ordered a flight to Nasca Lines. But after waiting for several hours at the airport we decided not to waste our time and went to Mirador by taxi. You can get there by local bus. But we wanted to see the museum of Maria Reiche as well. The Mirador is a good alternative to flights. You can see here several figuras only. But you see them very close and as long as you want. Finally it is much reliable and cheapper then flights.

You are here for Nazca lines and here you are
Dec 2018 • Friends
Ok, whoever visited Nazca, has flown ober the lines I assume. But to have an idea of how they were build, what they really look like, you have to be here and have a look at them closely.

A new and higher one is being build accross the pan american highway. It is a shame that one of the figures were destroyed during the construction of Pan American highway.

Here are some photos

Try it even if afraid of heights

For only 3 soles you can go up the 11mts tower and be able to see 3 figures of the nasca lines plus the lines that cross the desert.
Now, amazing thing is that the day we went buy there was only one tower but on our way back 11 days after, there was a new and taller one about to be open!
Both are really safe and totally worth the leg trembling (my case), give it a try, you can´t go to Nasca and not see the lines!
